According to reports in Spanish newspapers, Ramos is considering a change of scenery and is looking for a bumper pay-day. Manchester City have been mooted as a potential destination in recent weeks, but the latest report claims PSG are now hot on the trial as well.

Real Madrid chief Florentino Perez doesn’t want to lose Ramos though, and is reportedly not willing to consider selling the Spain international until June 2015 – at that point he’ll have less than two years left on his contract.

But PSG and City hope the prospect of a big wage increase will encourage Ramos to angle for a move away from the Bernabeu earlier.

The Spaniard is currently on a reported €5.5m-a-year in the Spanish capital, and the report suggests a deal worth between €7m and €9m-a-year could be on the table should City or PSG follow up their interest with a bid.

Ramos has been one of Madrid’s key defensive players for more than half a decade, and has over 110 caps for Spain despite being just 27-years-old.

He has been linked with a move to the Premier League before – after his fall-out with Jose Mourinho last season he was reportedly a target for Chelsea but that speculation has since died down following Mourinho’s appointment at Stamford Bridge.
