Camperdown looking to ‘mad’ STGC at Bellevue

Many people think Camperdown let defending champions, St. Georges College, off the hook in the opening game of the LIME/ISSA Manning Cup competition when the ‘light blues’ snatched a last minute equalizer at Catherine Hall in Montego Bay St. James.

Many people think Camperdown let defending champions, St. Georges College, off the hook in the opening game of the LIME/ISSA Manning Cup competition when the ‘light blues’ snatched a last minute equalizer at Catherine Hall in Montego Bay St. James.

Today the teams meet in the reverse fixture at the Bellevue Field tied on points and separated by goal difference with St. Georges leading the way. Camperdown will hope that home field advantage will help to make the difference in today’s encounter as the race for first place in the zone nears it’s climax.

‘Georges’ has not been as dominant as they were last season having lost eight of their starters from last year, but have still managed to maintain a dominant position which shows the character of the Neville Bell coached boys.

Camperdown has let leads slip twice this season to end up with draws and will need to show that they can close out games as they throw their hats in the ring as serious title contenders for the cup. Camperdown captain, Hugh Evans will need to lead his troops well today if they are to secure all three points.

Game time is 3:30pm, weather permitting.
