As games run out in the Sherwin Williams/JFF Women’s Premier League, the musical chairs continues in Zone B with a change in the group leader after every set of games.

In the previous set of games, Waterhouse beat GC Foster College to take over leadership of the zone, only to find themselves being bumped from the top on the weekend when they were beaten 2-0 by hosts Trelawny Women’s who now lead with 15 points, one more than second place GC Foster and Waterhouse who have slipped to third but trail the college only on goal difference.

The win on Saturday for Trelawny, which gave them sole leadership of the zone was secured by two strikes either side of  half time. Nathalie Jarrett gave her team the lead in the 19th minute and Yanique Smith made the points safe in the 73rd. Trelwany will not rest easy however, as with only two sets of matches left to play there is little room for error in what has been a very competitive zone all season.

Former zone leaders and end of round finalists, GC Foster College got back to winning ways when they easily got by the ‘beating sticks’ of the zone, Frazsiers Whip 4-0. They had to wait till the second half to break the deadlock when the deadly Monique Pryce gave them the lead on minute 58. Sharika Ingram doubled the score in the 77th before Amanda Maxwell made the game safe four minutes from time. Khedine Salmon added gloss to the score line when she made it 4-0 deep into stoppage time.

The other game in the zone was decided in the boardroom when Los Perfectos were awarded the points and three goals, after the Arnett Gardens team refused to continue and walked off the field following a decision made by the referee that they did not agree with.

The results from last weekend mean that Arnett Gardens are virtually out of contention for a semifinal spot while Los Perfectos in fourth place, still have an outside chance having amassed 12 points so far. Two more wins plus other results going their way could see the Manchester based team sneak in ahead of two of the teams above them.
