Tottenham Hotspur has brought their summer signings to seven players after they confirmed the signing of highly rated midfield maestro Christian Eriksen from Dutch giants Ajax. The Danish international cost Spurs around €10m as he had only a year remaining on his contract with the Amsterdam club.
Tottenham Hotspur has brought their summer signings to seven players after they confirmed the signing of highly rated midfield maestro Christian Eriksen from Dutch giants Ajax. The Danish international cost Spurs around €10m as he had only a year remaining on his contract with the Amsterdam club.
Eriksen may be the player Spurs have been searching for since the departure of Luka Modric to Real Madrid. He is very gifted technically, handles the ball excellently, has a great range of passes, very creative and is also capable of scoring lots of goals.
Tottenham are getting a proven international at the age of just 21. He already has 34 caps for Denmark scoring 4 goals in the process. Dutch legend Johan Cruyff has praised Eriksen in the past as a top class talent.
Cruyff said: ‘He is a player I really like with all my heart. This prize is just the beginning, a stimulus to get the maximum out of his career. The talent is there, the recognition also; now it is up to the player himself. He is a typical product of the Danish school. He can be compared to Brian and Michael Laudrup.’
A lot will be expected from Eriksen following his move from the Eridivisie. He is seen as the future of Denmark and this move will help him to take his career to the next level and he will be hoping to have a great first season in the English top-flight.
