Haiti sent the most serious message to date in the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Women’s Under-17 Qualifying Tournament, when its team routed Guyana 19-0

in the opening match of Group Three on Wednesday, August 21. This happened on a day when twenty-five (25) goals were scored by two teams, in the scheduled double-header at Estadio Panamericano in the Dominican Republic.

 

 The players responsible for Haiti’s imposing score were: 

• Rudena Paillare, who scored a double hat-trick with goals in the 22nd, 25th, 60th, 63rd 73rd and 77th minutes, 

• Louis Batcheva, who struck four times in the 8th, 13th, 38th, and 66th minutes, 

• Lebrun Isnada, whose hat-trick was earned in the 85th, 87th and 90th minutes, 

• Juedy Sherly, who netted in the 16th and 26th minutes, 

• Nicolas Nelbourde, in the 2nd and 28th minutes and, 

• Beaubrun Soveline and Lamour Catrina, who scored in the 20th and 52nd minutes respectively. 

 

The second match of the double-header, between Dominican Republic and Grenada, ended in an emphatic 6-0 triumph by the host team. Winibian Peralta was a hat-trick scorer with goals in the 12th, 33rd, 74th and 90th minutes, while Ana Tavaras and Leticia Dominguez scored in the 66th and 89th minutes respectively. 

 

Matches are scheduled to continue on August 23 at the Estadio Panamericano, when Grenada will face Guyana at 2:00 p.m. and, at 4:00 p.m., Dominican Republic will tackle Haiti. The final games will take place on August 25, when Guyana will challenge Haiti at 2:00 pm, and Dominican Republic will test Grenada at 4:00 p.m.
