The quarter final round of the Sherwin Williams Colour Scape Women’s Football, Knock Out competition will be played today with defending champions Barbican having the easiest draw on paper.

Barbican having just retained their midseason title, will play away to this year’s new team in the competition, Frazsiers Whip who received a bye to this stage of the competition. The Charles Edwards coached Barbican, also received a bye to this round but have had 5 wins in the league so far this season (including the midseason final) and have had five clean sheets. Frazsiers Whip have played five league games and conceded 39 goals while scoring only 2 and could be in for a real nightmare today.

Beaten mid-season finalists GC Foster College, who were runners-up in this competition last season, have a tricky home tie against a very good Harbour View team. Both teams are evenly matched so this encounter could go either way. This game could be decided by one moment of brilliance or one fatal mistake.

Trelawny FC and Waterhouse who are both in the same zone in the league, will do battle at the Elleston Wakeland field with the home team looking to avenge the 4-2 loss they suffered earlier in the season. Trelawny led that game 2-0 before Waterhouse scored 4 unanswered in a game that ended up being the turning point in their season. Waterhouse will be brimming with confidence while Trelawny will be smarting for revenge.

In the day’s other game UWI WFC will host Los Perfectos in what should be an intriguing encounter. The UWI have never been beyond the first round of this competition and will be keen on having a good run. They  hammered St. Thomas 5-1 at Lyssons Oval in the first round and will be looking for a positive result today. Los Perfectos are former winners of this competition and will also fancy their chances against UWI. This game could prove to be a must see encounter.

All games begin at 3pm. The semifinals will be played on September 7.
