An unrelenting Kingston College continued their pursuit of the ISSA/FLOW Manning Cup when the clobbered a hapless Ascot High 13-1 at the Stadium East Field on Monday to secure their fourth win on the trot this season.

Led by four goals from the competition’s leading scorer Rashawn Mackison and three from Trayvon Reid the boys from North Street made light work of their opponents, storming to a 5-0 half time lead, before bagging another eight goals in the second half of a totally one sided contest. Ascot got their consolation goal through Shawn Foster when the score was 12-0.

It took KC fourteen minutes to break the deadlock when Mackison headed from a Reid corner kick, and just two minutes later Reid was on the score sheet when he got his first, dismissing a defender before cutting inside the box to fire into the roof of the net.

Fabian Grant interrupted the Mackison and Reid show when he scored from an unmissable position, almost on the goal line. Normal service was resumed when Mackison got his second to make it 4-0 before Reid closed to the first half scoring two minutes before the break.

The rout continued unabated in the second half, Reid going past the advancing goalkeeper before scoring from an acute angle to make it 6-0 as he claimed his first hat trick for the season.

A delicate back heel flick from the skilful Reid released Grant down the left flank and he crossed to the penalty spot. The ball came to Mackison who cut inside his marker to rifle home as he became the second player to get a hat trick in the game.

Moments later KC was awarded a penalty and Mackison took the responsibility, making it four for himself and 8-0 to KC.

Raihim Irvin who has been guilty of a number of easy misses, then composed himself to produce a good finish, placing the ball in the corner of the net, before Romario Robinson also got in the act as KC reached double figures.

Substitute Jahmal Pusey then got in on the act, scoring into an empty goal after Reid had done all the hard work. Another substitute, Trevor Tingling made it an even 12- before Foster interrupted the KC party, scoring from a long range free kick.

Mikhail Lumsden then completed the scoring, before the referee mercifully blew the final whistle.

“This is my first hat trick for the season and I expect more and better from me. I think we are going to be winners for this Manning Cup 2016,” said a confident Reid after the match.

The assured Mackison said “I just plan to continue to do the good work, maintain my focus and always remain calm.”

A pleased KC coach, Ludlow Bernard said, “We tried to set goals for ourselves within the game. There were some individual objectives, like Mackison getting on the score sheet. Young Trayvon Reid, I would have hinted to him that I really wanted him to be the person to relieve the pressure off Mackison and I thought that his display today was excellent.”

Kingston College leads Group C with 12 points and have scored 23 goals while conceding only one.
