STETHS See Their Way Clear To The Semi Final Of The Ben Francis Cup

Defending champions St. Elizabeth Technical (STETHS) booked their semi-final place in the 2015 ISSA/FLOW Ben Francis Cup competition last Thursday with an empathetic 8-1 victory over Mannings in the quarter-finals of the DaCosta Cup at the STETHS Sports Complex.

The Omar Wedderburn coached team needed just a draw to advance to the semifinals the DaCosta Cup and the Ben Francis Cup never looked pressured and gave a textbook display of quality football , rolling mauls over a demotivated Manning unit.

The scoring was led by talisman Michael Kerr with three goals. He was supported by Shawn Genius and Demar Jones with two a piece.

They will be gunning for their sixth straight ISSA/FLOW Ben Francis KO Cup title.

The other semi-finalists were decided the day before, Lennon, Manchester and Dinthill Technical securing early spots.

Dinthill Technical will feature in a clash of returning teams from 2014, when they match up against STETHS.

The Anthony Patrick coached boys avenged a 2-nil defeat to last year finalists Glenmuir High. They exacted revenge by demolishing the Jackie Walters team three nil en route to this year’s competition.

The match up for Monday’s semifinal one will feature Manchester High against Lennon, while on Tuesday STETHS will come face to face with Dinthill.

Both semi-finals will be played at Juici Park, in Clarendon starting at 2:45pm.The Final is scheduled for November 20th at the same venue.
