Liverpool sacked Brendan Rodgers following their 1-1 draw with Everton on Sunday. The Mersyside derby was a very important match for Rogers and had he won that game he would have kept his job a bit longer. The draw against Everton means that Rogers and Liverpool had only managed to win 1 of their last 9 games.

Rogers was in charge for Liverpool for 3 and half seasons and came close to winning the league in 2012, but had to settle for second place. He qualified Liverpool for Champions League but did not make it back to the competition this season.

Brendan Rogers sacking is consider a very harsh one by some, although the signs of it happening were very ominous of his impending departure. He lost some very important players during his tenure and some of those players are just hard to replace. He lost Luis Suarez, who wanted to go to Barcelona, then he had Daniel Sturridge for a few match until he was out for most of the 2014/2015 season, coming into the start of this season.

He lost Steven Gerard who was a very influential leader, but was aging and wanted to experience life elsewhere, Raheem Sterling wanted to leave and he went to Manchester City and Captain Jordan Henderson picked up an injury early in the season.

When you look at all the players Rogers has had to do without it’s really a very harsh decision to show him the door, but he spent a lot of money and he drew too many games against low ranked teams at Anfield.

However, with Rogers out we look to see who will be the new man in charge at Liverpool as is rumored that Jurgen Klopp and Carlo Ancelotti who are currently out of work are both being targeted by Liverpool.
