Outgoing FIFA President, Sepp Blatter, has hailed the historic achievements of the Reggae Boyz in the just concluded CONCACAF Gold Cup by sending a letter to JFF President Captain Horace Burrell, acknowledging the accomplishments of the team.

In a letter sent on Monday, the embattled FIFA President said, “I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to the Jamaican National Team on their second-place finish in the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

“Please pass on my compliments to all those involved in this achievement: the players, the coach Winfried Schafer, but also the technical and medical team and, not least the supporters. Such success is based on hard work, professionalism, discipline and passion.

“Wishing you all the best for the future…”

Jamaica reached the final of the competition for the first time in their history and despite not winning, left the tournament with their heads held high, following some eye-catching performances and their historic win over the USA.
