The Jamaica Tallawahs will battle the Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel at the Queens Park Oval in Trinidad at 5:00pm today in a key match-up in the HERO CPL. The Tallawahs who defeated the Red Steels in their backyard will be looking to move up the tables to get themselves into that second place position and book a semifinal spot.

The Red Steels who are on nine points, sit third in the six team table, one above the Tallawahs who are also on nine points with net run rate separating the two. The winner of today’s game will set up themselves for a semifinal spot instead of settling for a regulation quarterfinal spot.

The Tallawahs have not been in the best of form, winning two before losing their last two during their four game home run at what used to be a fortress at Sabina Park. Meanwhile the Red Steel have been having a good run of form coming off two back to back victories and put themselves in a very good position to top the table should they win against the Tallawahs today and the Guyana Amazon Warriors on Tuesday to go on thirteen points one ahead of the table leaders Barbados Tridents.

It is expected be a close contest between the two today despite the easy win the Tallawahs registered at home, as both teams know just how vital winning is today. The Red Steel have more riding on this contest and with home support in their favour this time around will start as favourites against a Jamaica team that has been left idle by the weather since leaving home soil.

The rivalry between these two teams will bring out a lot of supporters to watch the likes of Chris Gayle and Dwayne Bravo goes ahead to head. The Queens Park Oval is expected to be a Sea of Red this evening as two of the regions best tangle.
