Elaine Thompson showed that her world leading 100m time of 10.92s at the UTech Classic in April was no fluke when she powered her way past a world class field to win the Women’s 100 meter in 10.97s at the Jamaica International Invitational Meet at the National Stadium in Kingston Jamaica on Saturday.

Commonwealth Champion Blessing Okagbare had to settle for second in a time of 11.05 while American and Olympic 200 meter champion Allyson felix was third in 11.05 as the Jamaican dipped below the 11 seconds barrier for the second time in her career.

Thompson 23 years of age who trains with the University of Technology based MVP club coached by Stephen Francis was left in her blocks and show her top head speed over the last 40 meters to give the Jamaicans supports another reason to cheer.

Thompson has shown that she is in good form and will be a main competitor at the World Championships later this year in Beijing, China. She is a very confident young lady and has what it takes to become a champion and she has as her mentor in World and Olympic Champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce.

Keep an eye on Elaine Thompson as her forms suggests that she can run under 10.90s.
