Asafa Powell headlines International Meet in Ireland

Former world record holder Asafa Powell, three-time Olympic 100m finalist and a two-time relay gold medallist fresh from his outing in the men’s 60-metre dash at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston, will now turn his attention to the ATHLONE Institute of Technology International indoor Grand Prix on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 in Ireland.

Other mega stars on show will be Quatar’s high jump sensation Mutaz Essa Barshim and American sprinter Carmelita Jeter.

Wednesday’s field also includes lots more high-class talent, including Barshim’s brother Muamer , Jamaican sprint hurdler Dwight Thomas, Sharika Nelvis, Manteo Mitchell and Britain’s Nigel Levine in a top-class 400m and Irish Olympian Ciaran O’Lionaird in the mile.
