Sherone Simpson joins SPRINT TECH track club

Embattled Olympian and former MVP Track Club athlete Sherone Simpson has returned home to train again.

This time she is taking instructions from Maurice Wilson, the former Holmwood Technical High School coach, and now lecturer at the GC Foster College in Spanish Town, where the Sprint Tech track Club is located. Wilson has also served has Technical leader of last year World Indoor Track and Field team in Poland.

The Olympic 100-metre silver medalist took to the track as a part of the sprint Tech 4×400 relay squad which finished third, behind winners UTECH and MVP track club at the 37th staging MILO Western Relays held on the weekend in Catherine Hall, Montego Bay.

News came last year, following her battle with JADCO and JAAA regarding her failed drug test along with former club mate Asafa Powell (eventually both athletes were cleared by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in July 2014), that Simpson, had migrated to the United States and was training with renowned track coach Loren Seagrave, at the IMG Academy in Florida.

Sprint Tech Track club, is home of 2014 200m Common Wealth champion, Rasheed Dwyer along with a host of other young upcoming stars including national representative Anastascia Leroy.
