Both GC Foster College and Los Perfectos will be hoping to avoid defending champions Barbican in the semi-finals of the Sherwin Williams Women’s Premier League when they come face to face in the final group game of the regular season on Wednesday.

Having beaten back the challenge of the other five teams in the group weeks ago, the concern for both teams has been who wins the group and who gets the runner up spot. Now with just one game to go GC Foster who has 31 points, needs only a draw to claim first spot in Zone B ahead of Los Perfectos who has 30 points.

When both teams met in the league earlier this season at Brooks Park, GC Foster spanked the home team 3-0 but when they met in the semi-finals of the Colour Scape Knock Out competition, Los Perfectos got the better of the Kurt Brooks coached team 2-1.

An intriguing match-up to decide the zone now looms large. With the league semi-finals a few days away both teams will be seeking the easier path to the final.

Zone A has already been decided with Barbican topping the group with a whopping 34 points from 12 games. Arnett Gardens made history when they qualified for the semi-finals for the first time, finishing second with 26 points ahead of perennial ‘final four’ finishers, Waterhouse FC.

Barbican has continued to show that they are the class of the league and both teams will be aiming to avoid them as Arnett may seem an easier option.

The game will be played at the University beginning at 3:00pm and any of the three results seem quite possible between these evenly matched teams.
