French wonder-kid Adrien Rabiot has ended all the speculation surrounding his future at the Parc des Princes by signing a new four year deal that will keep him at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) until 2019. The highly rated teenager was expected to make a move to AS Roma in January but has made a U-turn to seal a deal with Laurent Blanc’s team.

The 19 year old is a product of the PSG academy and is seen as a future superstar not just for the Ligue 1 champions but also for the French national team. He is one of the most gifted and highly rated teenage midfielders in Europe and was been tracked by several top clubs across Europe including Arsenal, Roma and Chelsea.

Upon signing his new deal, the midfield starlet expressed his delight on the clubs official website. He stated, ‘I am very happy to remain a player of Paris Saint-Germain, the club that made me the player I am today. I would like to thank the president, Nasser Al Khelaifi, who kept discussions open in recent months.’

He continued, ‘It was here at Paris Saint-Germain that I grew up and enjoyed my first experiences as a player. The club’s project is ambitious, and I’m very proud to be a part of it for the coming years. Now I want to concentrate on my football, on my game and give my best for Paris Saint-Germain on the pitch and for the supporters.’

With his future secured and remaining in Ligue 1, Rabiot will be able to switch focus on getting more minutes on the pitch as well as hoping to secure a spot in the national team. It is a tough battle to get into that midfield at the moment but with his talent, ability and potential he can surely make a case to Didier Deschamps if he gets a good run for PSG.

This will also come as a blow for Louis van Gaal and Manchester United whose hopes of signing Kevin Strootman appears slimmer now. Roma was expected to sign Rabiot who would have filled the void left by the Dutch midfielder who is on van Gaal’s wanted list. Rudi Garcia will be unwilling to part ways with the 24 year old midfielder and it could take a huge sum of money to prize Strootman away from Rome.
