Paul Pogba extends his contract with Juventus

After weeks of speculation about his future, France rising star Paul Pogba has signed a new deal with Italian champions Juventus. The 21 year who joined Juventus from Manchester United in the summer of 2012, had been attracting interest from Chelsea, PSG and Real Madrid but has opted to remain in Turin until 2019. In doing so, the central midfielder has ended any speculation surrounding his immediate future.

Pogba was also rumoured to be on the radar of the Red Devils but local Turin newspaper Tuttosport has stated that the French starlet is now one of the highest earners at the club. The announcement of the new deal came via the club’s official Twitter account. Juventus’ sporting director Giuseppe Marotta also confirmed the news after a board meeting. He was quoted by journalist Gianluca Di Marzio saying, ‘This morning we signed an extension with Pogba through 2019.’

The silky smooth athletic midfielder has become an integral part of the French national set-up and impressed at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. He is seen as one of the best talents in world football and he has made his ambitions clear by stating that he wants to win the Ballon D’or in the near future.
