An exciting double header in the Red Stripe Premier League is in store at the National Stadium on Heroes Day as a top of the table clash between leaders Cavalier SC and second place Arnett Gardens FC at 6:30pm precedes the West Kingston derby between strugglers Tivoli Gardens and Boys Town at 9:00pm.

Both games are expected to be exciting, action packed matches as all four teams vie for critical points as the season begins to take shape.

Unexpected leaders Cavalier has continued to defy the odds. They currently lead the standings with 14 points and will remain top regardless of the result. However, the team whose home ground is the Stadium East field will be looking to keep the chasing pack at arms-length with a win over the Jerome Waite coached Arnett Gardens.

The “Junglists” who led the league early, are on 11 points and keen to return to the summit. They will be anxious to cut the gap at the top to just one, by collecting all three points tonight. Jerome Waite will be urging his team to run at their opponents on the flat, true surface of the National Stadium.

Both teams like to play the ball on the ground so the fans could be in for a treat from kick-off. This game will be shown live on TVJSN.

The feature game between Tivoli Gardens and Boys Town is expected to be another feisty affair in a long line of West Kingston derbies. Both teams have struggled at the start of the season as they try to cope with the effects of the Chick V virus as well as fitness issues within their respective squads.

Playing under lights at the National Stadium should add an extra element to a contest which can easily be seen as an early season “three pointer”. Tivoli Gardens in eighth position, has just five points with Boys Town a point behind on four and two spots above last place.

The points returns so far for both clubs has been poor and three points for either team will catapult them into mid-table of a tightly bunched group.

This game is the regular Monday Night game and will be featured on TVJ.
