After an impressive opening 4-0 victory over the Portuguese, Germany will look to take charge of Group G when they take on Ghana. This is a make or break fixtures for the Ghanians as they lost 2-1 to the United States in their opening match of the World Cup.

The Black Stars went to the quarter-final in South Africa four years ago, but now must get at least a draw against the Germans if they are to stand any chance of advancing to the knock-out stages. Die Mannschaff is one of the favourites to go all the way and with their opening win it shows how powerful and scary they are.

Ghana fielded a very young team in the opening fixture but changes are likely to be made for this match. Akwasi Appiah is expected to have Jonathan Mensah and Daniel Opare at the back while Samuel Inkoom is expected to come in as well.

He may opt to use some experienced players in midfield so Michael Essien should be in the first eleven as well as Kevin-Prince Boateng. Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu could also feature in midfield with the attack being lead by Asamoah Gyan and Andre Ayew.

Germany could name an unchanged team but Joachim should have the services of his midfield maestro Bastian Schweinsteiger. Manuel Neuer is expected to take his place in goal with Mats Hummels and Per Mertesacker in central defense. Young Erik Durm could feature at left back but Jerome Boateng may lose the right back spot to skipper Philipp Lahm.

Toni Kroos should keep his place in midfield even if Schweinsteiger is drafted in with Thomas Muller, Mesut Ozil and Mario Gotze in attack.

This is a tough fixture for both teams but Germany should expect a very physical and hard-working display from the Black Stars. Their World Cup dream hinges on this fixture and therefore Ghana will be doing all they can to get a result. Low’s team defeated Ghana 1-0 last World Cup and if they stay focused and work hard on the day they could repeat but this fixture could go either way.

Players to Watch:

Germany: Philipp Lahm, Thomas Muller, Mesut Ozil

Ghana: Kevin-Prince Boateng, Andre Ayew, Asamoah Gyan
