The KSAFA Confederation will host two festivals under the Digicel/JFF Grassroots programme at Breezy Castle (Rae Town) and the Excelsior Community College on Saturday, June 14 and Sunday, June 15.

On each day one hundred (100) kids aged 6-12 will be taken through drills in:

·  dribbling

·  goal scoring

·  goalkeeping

·  passing

·  running exercises

·  movement with the ball

·  ball control and

·  small sided games

The festival approach allows for the introduction of basic skills of the game in a fun environment.

Guided by the FIFA grassroots philosophy that the best way of attracting new players to the sport is to give them access to football in their own environment, this will be the final parish festival sponsored by Digicel in its second year of sponsorship.

For the second year some twelve hundred kids have participated in  twelve parishes.

In the second year of the programme the JFF has also given each parish association equipment to allow for the smaller festivals to be staged on a continuing basis.

Having the festival in the midst of the World Cup Finals is expected to bring greater enthusiasm and participation.

The on the field festival on both days will start at 1:00pm following sessions with coach educators who are trained in the best methods to teach football through fun.
