Kingston, Jamaica; The MYLAPS Timing system will again be utilized in the final event of the Everyone’s A Winner Best Dressed Chicken Road Race Series to be held at Hope Gardens on Sunday, June 15.

The three-race Series, presented by local race management company, Running Events Ltd with title sponsors, Best Dressed Chicken, began on March 23 with a 5K and increased to a 6K on April 13. The ultimate & celebratory Father’s Day event will see a 7K run and walk and an optional 5K run.

The MYLAPS system will offer participants true professionalism and accurate results as the chip timing technology not only supports registration but identifies individual racers and athletes, determine their start, finish and intermediate times, collect performance data, calculate rankings and publish the results electronically for easy access. Race participants are also encouraged to download the MYLAPS app from their respective smartphone app stores to provide up to date tracking of their performance at the Everyone’s A Winner Best Dressed Chicken Road Race Series finale.

MYLAPS technology was introduced over thirty years ago, and the impact it had on sporting activities was almost immediate. Running Events Limited introduced the technology to local races that have emerged in the past few years.  Since then, the MYLAPS system has become the bench mark for professionalism in the management of the road races in Jamaica. Running Events took the initiative to pursue their own MYLAPS system in 2013.

Running Events Ltd’s Race Director, Alfred “Frano” Francis states that with the increased number of road races locally, and heightened awareness of maintaining a healthy lifestyle by both individuals and corporate teams, “persons are impatient for accurate results, and are deserving of the highest technology available globally.”

The MYLAPS system is an automatic sports timing product utilizing a specially programmed chip implanted in the athletes’ bib. The technology brings pin point accuracy to results’ times and for athletes in training, it can chart accurate performance from easily accessible information. The system also offers persons an interactive results platform to track their own times and those of friends, family and race rivals.

In addition to the professional chip timing on Sunday, June 15 at Hope Gardens, participants will be treated to a festive finish line of offerings by Best Dressed Chicken and other refreshments, live entertainment and giveaways. The lure of trophies for a number of award categories ensures that everyone is indeed a winner.

Registration for the race costs $1000 and can be completed by visiting www.runningeventsja.com/registration . Registration closes on Friday, June 6
