Williams strike dethrones Harbour View

A new champion will be crowned in this year’s Red Stripe Premier League after defending champions Harbour View were beaten 1-0 by Montego Bay United at Wespow Park in their return leg semi-final yesterday.

The teams had played out an exciting 2-2 draw at the Harbour View Mini-Stadium last Thursday with Mobay United coming back from 2-0 down to earn a point.

Dino Williams who proved to be a handful for the Harbour View defenders last week, forcing an own goal before grabbing the equalizer, was the man who settled the contest when he stole in front of Dicoy Williams in the 23^rd minute to poke home from close range.

It was the third time that Mobay were getting the better of the ‘Stars of the East’ this season with their two other meetings ending in a draw.

Mobay United are the only team from the West to make it to the semi-finals and will be keen on lifting the trophy which has been dominated by teams from the east in recent times.

Montego Bay United will know their opponents in the finals, when Arnett Gardens host regular season winners Waterhouse FC at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex starting at 8:45 tonight.
