Four points separate fifth placed Tivoli Gardens from 10th placed Boys Town in the Red Stripe Premier League and when the two teams meet today at 4:00pm at the Edward Seaga Sports Complex it will be a must win game for both teams.

Hosts Tivoli Gardens are four points behind fourth placed Arnett Gardens and desperate to close the gap with time running out to get into the final semi-final spot. Boys Town on the other hand, are one place above the drop zone and above 11th place Rivoli United only on goal difference. Neither team can afford to drop points in this West Kingston derby. A fierce, intense battle is expected come kick-off.

Montego Bay United were usurped at the top of the premier league on Thursday when Waterhouse who are now on 46 points, beat bottom placed August Town 3-0. The Drewsland based team do not play until tomorrow when they host Rivoli in the Monday night game. Mobay United, on 45 points, could find themselves atop the league once more should they see off the challenge of sixth place Sporting Central (34 points) who visit Westpow Park for a 3:30pm game.

Arnett Gardens hosts mid-table Humble Lion at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex, seeking a win to solidify their fourth place position with six rounds to go. Arnett let it slip against champions Harbour View on Thursday after leading 1-0 and ended up drawing 1-1. There is no room for such an error today. Humble Lion are under new management and will not be making it easy for the “Junglists” who will have to work their socks off for the three points. That game is set for a 6:00pm start.

Cavalier have been a mid-table team for most of the season and are only two points above Rivoli who occupy the final relegation spot in the league. When they take on cellar dwellers August Town at 4:30pm the Stadium East today, the former champions will be hunting three points against a team playing for pride, as they try to ensure premiership football for another season. August Town’s early season form has deserted them and following two coaching changes they have been unable to dig themselves out of trouble. Cavalier will expect to get all three points today.

Champions Harbour View will be hosting the hot and cold former champions Portmore United in the late game today which starts at 6:30pm. Following the midweek draw with Arnett Gardens, the champions have now slipped to third spot but can move up a place or go top with a win, at least until tomorrow when leaders Waterhouse play.

Portmore have been unable to put a good run of games together and sit just one point above the relegation zone. A win today would ease the pressure off head coach Calvin Lewis but with playoff football on their minds, Harbour View will be expected to go for the jugular from the first whistle.
