Scotia sends Junior Netball soaring

Monique Todd, VP – Marketing, Public and Corporate Affairs at Scotiabank announced the banks’ sponsorship renewal of Jamaica’s national U14 and U16 teams in the amount of $12,000,000 (12 million dollars) to be disbursed over three years.  The first disbursement will be for $5,000,000.  The announcement was made on Thursday March 27 at the bank’s head office in Kingston.

 She bank also presented team gears to the U16 team management for the players who will depart soon for the upcoming Jean Pierre U16 tournament in Antigua during April.

 

According to Todd “the decision to renew our sponsorship to the teams was an easy one based on the passion, dedication and effort that Netball Jamaica continues to invest not only in the sport but in the personal development of the young players.  We are indeed proud of to play a part in the growth and success of netball in Jamaica.”

 

Marva Bernard, the president of Netball Jamaica was very appreciative of the bank’s renewed sponsorship of the teams.  This year marks the bank’s 7th year of sponsorship to date.  According to her “I am sure that this sponsorship will continue to have significant mutual benefits to the bank and us.”

 

Scotiabank has been supporting the national U14 and U16 teams with local and regional initiatives including the Birmingham Exchange Programme and the Jnr. Umpires Programme for several years now.
