Waterhouse Football Club is only a draw away from qualification for the next round of the CFU Club Championships after racking up consecutive victories in their qualification zone being played in Haiti.

After registering a comfortable 4-0 victory in their first game last Friday against Moengotapoe the Jamaican club scored a narrow 2-1 win over AS Mirebalais on Sunday to tally 6 points ahead of their final game against the Trinidadian team Caledonia AIA today.

Caledonia AIA has 4 points following a win and a draw from their two games and know they must win in order to progress ahead of Waterhouse. This may shape the team tactics for both sides with the route to qualification decidedly different. However, given the form that his team is in at the moment, it is unlikely that Waterhouse coach Anthony Patrick will look to defend.

With the Haitian born forward Chedlin Francoeur in fine form and playing on home soil for his new team Waterhouse, Caledonia will have to contend with a speedy attacking team that are hungry for success.

Damarley ‘Starboy’ Samuels, captain of Waterhouse says his team is brimming with confidence ahead of today’s encounter.

“We are ready to play and get the job done. The guys are confident and can’t wait to go out there and get another win. We have heard about the Harbour View result and realize that we are the country’s only hope left in the competition now. So it is not just about us anymore, but about representing Jamaica,” he said.

Waterhouse return to Jamaica tomorrow and will be looking to do so with another leg of the journey still ahead of them in the CFU Club Championships.
