Arsenal still trails first placed Chelsea by a point ( Chelsea 57, Arsenal 56) and with ever present threat that is Manchester City (54)who trails Arsenal by a mere 2 points. With City now holding a game in hand after a postponed match with Sunderland Wenger and his team will now have to revisit the drawing board to correct the mistakes that have been made, while hopefully hold off Manchester City a little longer and still keeping within striking distance of Chelsea.

Liverpool after an emphatic victory over Arsenal on Saturday, had to overcome a hardy challenge from Fullham to win the game 3-2 on Wednesday. Liverpool’s goals came from Daniel Sturridge in the 41st minute and Phillippe Coutinho and Steven Gerrard with their goals coming in the 72nd and 91st minutes respectively.

Other matches on the day saw Tottengham Hotspurs defeating Newcastle 4-0 with their goals coming from Adebayor ( 19th, 82nd min) he had help from Paulinho in the 53rd minute and a late strike from Chaudli in the 88th minute, while Swansea and Stoke City played to 1-1 draw.
