Coaching Licence required by JFF

The Jamaica Football Federation announced the following at a Graduation ceremony held today for coaches who had participated in the JMMB/JFF/UTech Coaching School in 2013.

 

Effective September 1, 2014, all coaches in the island must be in possession of a JFF coach’s licence in order to perform coaching duties as follows:

1.At all preparatory and primary schools: parish leagues: intercol and women’s leagues, all head coaches and assistant coaches must possess a JFF Advanced Level 1 Licence or its equivalent.

 

2.At the premier league and high school level, head coaches and assistant coaches must have a JFF Advanced Level 2 licence or its equivalent.

 

3.The licensing period spans September 2014 to August 31, 2016 and is renewable biennially (every two years)

 

 

4.All licensed coaches will have to complete eight (8) hours of refresher courses per year, beginning 2014, before the licence can be renewed; of this 8 hours, at least four(4) must be a JFF conducted course.

 

5.The cost of the licence is $5,000 in the first instance.

 

6.In order to assist in the smooth running of the registration process, the registration period for the already 600 certified coaches will begin January 2014 and end on Monday, March 31, 2014.  The registration period for additional coaches who will be trained between February and August 2014, will be advised at a later date.
