JaVA/St Elizabeth Primary & Prep Schools League on the way

Following the completion of the one-day rally on 25 October, action in the JaVA/St Elizabeth Primary & Prep Schools League got on the way on Friday, November 1, 2013 with the first leg of the parish’s round-robin Competition.  

Following the completion of the one-day rally on 25 October, action in the JaVA/St Elizabeth Primary & Prep Schools League got on the way on Friday, November 1, 2013 with the first leg of the parish’s round-robin Competition.  

 

 Four schools from the parish registered for the competition, namely Nain and Santa Cruz Primary and Junior High and  Geneva and Braes River Primary Schools; however Braes River was unable to show for today’s set of matches due to an unfortunate incident.

 

In the day’s matches Nain defeated Geneva 15-8, 15-11 and defeated Santa Cruz 15-6, 15-10.  Geneva finished the day second on points after defeating Santa Cruz 15-8, 15-10.

 

The second and deciding round of the parish competition will take place at Geneva Primary on 15 November at which Breas River is schedued to compete.  The top two teams from the parish will then advance to the National Finals at the National Stadium on 13 December 2013.

 

Although the JaVA U-13 Schools Competition is in its fourth iteration this is the inaugural year for St Elizabeth and Hanover.  Over 60 Primary-level schools have registered for the competition this year, and increase of almost 300 percent when compared to last year.
