Borussia Dortmund has made a big statement of intent to continue to be a contender in the Bundesliga and a force in Europe by extending the contract of their manager. Jurgen Klopp has committed to the club for a further two years to 2018 and this is a big boost for the rest of the club.

The young coach has transformed the fortunes of the BVB since taking charge in 2008. He has developed a wonderful style of play combined with his calmness and enthusiasm to get the best out of his players. He has shown his willingness to give youth an opportunity to shine on the biggest stage and has developed some wonderful players in his short time so far at the Signal Iduna Park.
Due to his success of back-to-back Bundesliga titles in 2011 and 2012 as well as reaching the Champions League final in 2013, Klopp is a target for many of the top clubs in Europe. This is the reason keeping him at the club by a further two years is a big step in the right direction for the BVB. Chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke and sporting director Michael Zorc along with Klopp has done a fantastic job taking the club to the next level and trying to improve all the time.
Klopp has developed the talents such as Nuri Sahin, Mario Gotze, Shinji Kagawa, Robert Lewandowski, Sven Bender, Ilkay Gundogan, Mats Hummels, Marcel Schmeltzer and Neven Subotic. These players are very talented and technically gifted and are all very young with still a lot more room for improvement. His faith in young players is paying dividends for the club and if he manages to keep his young stars at the Signal Iduna Park he could be in for more years of success at Dortmund.
The charismatic 46 years old coach will be hoping to reclaim the Bundesliga this season from Bayern Munich as well as reaching as far as possible in the Champions League. He will be hoping that news of him extending his deal will galvanize his troops to work harder and become more focus to push on in the season. The fans will be buzzing about his extension and everyone involved with Dortmund will be hoping for more success for Klopp and his young guns.
