England select three uncapped players in their squad to face Australia down under.

When this winter’s Ashes series resume in Australia, England will have in their ranks three uncapped players. Gary Balance, Ben Stokes and Boyd Rankin will don the colours of the Three Lions for the first time in test matches.

When this winter’s Ashes series resume in Australia, England will have in their ranks three uncapped players. Gary Balance, Ben Stokes and Boyd Rankin will don the colours of the Three Lions for the first time in test matches.

 

 Ballance, 23, was born in Harare and plays for Yorkshire in the English county championships. The left-handed batsman has only played a single one-day international for England. While New Zealand-born all-rounder Ben Stokes and ex – Ireland pace bowler Rankin who are yet to play a test, also make the squad as do left-arm spinner Monty Panesar, top – order batsman Carberry and seamer Chris Tremlett. 

 

Missing out on the seventeen man party are seamers Tim Breznan andGraham Onions. Also to miss out are: James Tredwell, and opener Nick Compton.
