Edwards helps West Indies A to series win over India A

A run a ball century by Barbadian Kirk Edwards led the West Indies A to a 45 runs win over their Indian counterparts in the third unofficial one-day international at the Chinnaswamy Stadium and with it a 2-1 victory in the series.

Edwards, who has been out of the senior side for more than a year made 104 laced with 12 fours and 3

sixes. 

With his last appearance for the senior team in a test match in England in May 2012, and appearing in his last one – day a year earlier, Edwards before the series said he would use this opportunity given to him by the selector’s to stake his claim for inclusion in the senior team in future tours.

 

He shared in stands of 66 and 93 with Jonathon Carter and Leon Johnson respectively. The most impressive bowler for the Indians was Jaydev Unadkat who took five wickets. 

In their turn at bat, the Indians struggled throughout with their best stand coming in a 112 run partnership off 117 balls between Aparajith and Yuvraj in a third wicket stand.
