The 2016 dream season continues for Excelsior High’s Shanice Love after she produced yet another personal best and record breaking effort of 54.72m to secure the top spot in the High School Girls Discus finals earlier this morning, on Day One of the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, USA.

Love who opened her sequence with 50.40m, produced the new mark with her 6th and final attempt, as she trailed leader Elana Bruckner of Valley Christian.

Bruckner (55.20m) is the current World number two ranked Under 20 Discus Thrower, with Love sitting in third position for 2016. The ranking is being led by Montegro Kristina Rackocevic with 55.48m.

The mark achieved by Love erased the old Championship Record of 54.29m set in 2013 by Former Holmwood Technical star Gleneve Grange.

This was the second championship record previously held by Grange that Love has brokn this season, after she threw 54.70 to break the National Junior record at the inaugural staging of the MVP Invitational Meeting two weeks ago.

Hydel Devia Brown finished third with a best effort of 48.34m in a series marred by foul attempts. It was the same for fifteenth place Shyledeen Smith of Petersfield who best effort was 41.37m.
