The silent warrior or heavyweight amongst Class two female sprinters, whatever title is assigned to the outstanding Shellece Clark, from the barns of the Frankfield based institution, Edwin Allen, it is pretty much a perfect fit.

The reserved and yet receptive sprinter is looking to write another chapter in her high school championship career. The defending Class two triple sprint champion, (both sprints plus sprint relay), is charting a course on repeating her 2015 champs performance, and even to supercede what she has already achieved.

“I am training hard, and hoping that my hard work can allow me to repeat my performance at Champs 2015. Everybody will come out to compete and I look forward to the challenge of all my fellow competitors,” she stated.

Clark who cruised to 12.03 victory in the 100m on Saturday, revealed that she is taking things step by step and not get carried away by what others think or is saying in terms of her being the top contender in her class.

“My aim is to first make the final of my events, then give it my best shot. It is not to pick out one person to say is my main rival” Clark revealed.

Clark is confident that it will title number three for her school, despite understanding that every team entering Champs will be looking to upset the ‘Light Blues’.

“We work hard and always come with our best. And I know we can win again in 2016, even though everybody will come to do well at champs.”

The 17 year old athlete is also approaching this season with her eyes fixed on triple at this year’s Carifta Games. Clark sped to a 11.50 seconds to secure victory in U18 Girls 100m Final Carifta Games 2015, before leading the sprint relay to the top of the podium. She is now looking to go one better by adding the 200m to her titles at the regional games.
