The tears flowed freely down the face of Jason Morgan when being interviewed at the end of the IAAF World Champions in Beijing, China in 2015. Frustrated by another below par performance by himself, due to injuries and a lack of financial support, Morgan, in an open and honest interview revealed to the world just how challenging it was for him as a professional athlete, but vowed to soldier on despite the setbacks he had faced.

His plight has not gone unnoticed and now the pieces of the puzzle are finally coming together as the 33 year old has now been signed by the global sports brand Puma.

“It’s like a dream come true. They have supported Jamaican track and field and some of the world’s best athletes and now they will assist me on my journey. It’s a blessing and an amazing opportunity to be a part of a pioneer brand,” Morgan said without revealing details of the contract.

The deal has allowed him to put in important elements that are key to his preparation on his journey to success.

“I am working a part time job while I train. I am training hard and it is going very well now. I now have a set workout plan and cycles for the season and a couple of great coaches that will assist me. I won’t be doing it alone like I have done in the past.

“I am motivated and determined to do well. I am working hard honestly and listening to my body. I have a great support and management team and it is a blessing to have Puma as my sponsor.”

Morgan sees the path that he is on as more than just about himself but also as a pioneering role in an effort to bring more attention to field events in a country known primarily for its exploits on the track.

“I will continue to inspire and break down barriers. Give young and old people hope to believe in themselves no matter what journey they decide to trod on. I am feeling Timeless!”
