All athletes accredited for IAAF World Championships, Beijing 2015 were given the right to vote in the elections, which took place during the championships between 23 and 29 August in the official team hotels.

The other new members who have been appointed to join the Athletes’ Commission for the period 2016-2019 are Brazilian Fabiana Murer, Paula Radcliffe of Great Britain, Alina Talay of Belarus, American Ashton Eaton, and Ezekiel Kemboi of Kenya.

The six elected members of the commission will begin their mandate on 1 January 2016.
