The baby of the pack, Shericka Jackson is one of four women, who will represent Jamaica in the 400m at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing,China.

“I’m happy, I’m in a good camp. I am looking forward to my future. I am ready to run with the best. My aim is to become the best”. These are words that fit a champion in the making, and they are the words that Jamaica’s young track and field sensation Shericka Jackson live by.

Jackson, aka Jacko, booked her ticket to the 2015 World Championship in Athletics at Jamaica’s Senior Trials in June and will be plying her trade in the 400m, along with the experienced campaigner Novlene Williams- Mills, training partners, 2015 National champion Christine Day and Stephenie-Ann McPherson.

The current University of Technology/ MVP athlete has made a name for herself with her smart, unique style of running during her stint at Alma mata Vere Technical High school.

The 21 year old is quite aware that her senior debut will not be an easy ride, but if you should ask her about her chances inside the Bird’s Nest, she will tell you that she is ready to run with the big girls.

To be number one, you have to train like you are number two. We wish Shericka Jackson a successful campaign in Beijing 2015.
