IT’S FAR FROM THE FINISH LINE FOR VERONICA CAMPBELL-BROWN

World Championships,Veronica Campbell-Brown,Beijing China,

Regarded as one of the veteran campaigners for Jamaica at several major championships, and copping titles and medals at different levels throughout her career in just about all the sprint event for females, Veronica Campbell is now believed to be by some, to have passed her best days at the top, but for others, a champion knows how best to rise the occasion.

Ranked amongst some of the world’s best to ever grace the track, the decorated sprinter knows that even if she is getting close to the finish line of her career, slowing down is not an option now. She endeavors to stay energized and power through the finish line.

The 2011 World 200m Champion and 2007 World 100m champion has developed that feeling of pride and resilience since donning the national colours as far back as her junior days.

The expectation of victory from her fans and family all around always intensifies and takes over the former National champion and is what many believe is the explanation of her great list of accomplishments.

Campbell-Brown has won medals in the entire 100m event between 2005 to 20011 IAAF World championships.

She missed out on competing at the 2013 games due to drug related issues for which she was exonerated in 2014. She has also reached the final of the 200m at all the four Championships between 2005 and 2011, copping medals on three occasions.

At 33 years old, Campbell-Brown is set to battle in both sprint events inside the Beijing National Stadium, the place where she set her personal best of 21.74 seconds, en route to copping her Olympic 200m gold medal in 2008. Her 100m personal best time stands at 10.74 seconds done in 2011.

And with season bets times of 10.99 and 22.61 Campbell-Brown is still confident and believes there is only one person in the world who can ever stop her or dilute her to the point of inefficiency and that is herself.

As the world awaites the start of the 15th IAAF World Championships, we say to Campbell-Brown, keep your focus on the completion of your tasks, do not ease into the end of your journey but rather continue to strive to maintain excellence.

You have it in you, you are so close, don’t stop, don’t quit, push yourself beyond the finish line.
