The players were introduced by the Tallawahs manager, Richardson and the students were told to ask any question relating to cricket. The students were shy at first but as questions began to flow as they become more comfortable interacting with the local superstars.

Nkruma Bonner was asked which bowler he feared and he said Sunil Narine, “because of how hard it is to read his bowling”.

David Bernard Jr was asked how do the Tallawahs prepare for their opponents and he quickly pointed out that “the team does not underestimate any team and every team is treated with the same respect”.

Horace Miller was asked how difficult it is as a wicket-keeper to collect the ball in the gloves and he noted that it was difficult, especially if the pitch is turning, “but with practice and confidence it becomes natural”.

The students were happy to communicate with the local players and were happy to get the experience. They were happy for the face to face talks and will use what they were taught as a guideline when playing cricket in order to become better players.

Marketing Manager for the Jamaica Tallawahs, Vishnu Kumar, was happy to see how the players were welcomed across the three schools.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for the kids to gain advice from the players, and the players themselves want to give back to their communities. It’s a really good opportunity to interact with the kids as they are the future and they will be representing the Jamaica Tallawahs in years to come,” said marketing manager of the Jamaica Tallawahs Vishnu.

The Tallawahs will have two more school tours before the competition begins next month.
