World Youth Olympic 200m champion 2014 and finalist at the 2014 IAAF World Junior Championships Natalliah White will be trying her best to pull off the sprint double for the Monk Street ladies in their quest for glory at ISSA Grace Kennedy Inter-Secondary Track and Field Championships for 2015.

White who won the Class 2 Girls 200m finals at Champs 2014 in 24.30s will be looking to bring that success into her first year as a Class One athlete. She also finished second to Shauna Helps of Wolmers in the 100m finals in 2014.

White has been ambushing most of her challengers this season but will have her hands full with a host of top competitors in the likes of Edwin Allen wonder woman, Squakine Cameron who got by her in the 200m at the National Carfita trials.

Other strong competition will come from fellow teammate Shanice Reid, Vere Technical’s Renee Medley, Wolmers’ Shauna Helps, Holmwood Technical’s Sasha Lee Forbes and Immaculate Conception Jeanine Williams.

The 17 year old won the 100m (11.71 seconds) at the Carifta Trials and finished third in the 200m and will once again represent the country at the Carifta Games set for St kitts and Nevis in April.

She has had the opportunity to taste international competition in early season as she was a double sprint champion at the Star Trackers Invitational held in The Bahamas in February.

The Danny Hawthrone coached girls team is in with a fighting chance to secure the girls crown and will be heavily reliant on the big stars, including White to rack up top points in their events.

She piloted the St Jago Class 1 girls’ 4x100m team to victory at the recently held 39th Gibson McCook Relays.

The victory placed White and her teammates as front runners for gold as they turned back the Edwin Allen team which had Saqukine Cameron and Wolmer’s Girls with Shauna Helps and must now be bubbling with confidence to repeat such at the showpiece event scheduled for March 24- 28, inside the National Stadium.
