She had earlier played second fiddle to Whyte in the 100m, in a time of 11.76 seconds, ahead of the likes of Shauna Helps of Wolmers Girls. Medley was named in the female squad of junior track and field stars who will represent the country at the Carifita Games in April.

She has been frequent in the winner’s enclosure since the start of the season, securing the 100m crown at the Central Championships, Kirkvine, in 11.72 seconds. She also scored big at the Camperdwon Classics winning in a time of 11.74 seconds.

Renee has proven that she can go the distance, and could be a major player in the Vere Technical bid to secure the 4×400 relay, if she is called upon on for service.

Speaking with Yardie Sports shortly after crowning herself 200m champion of the Digicel Grand Prix Series the 18 year old said, “It was a good race, I just need to get out the blocks faster. I want to give my school the maximum points and get the gold medal at champs.”
