JCA to support Cameron’s re-election after all

KINGSTON, February 2015, – WICB President, Whycliffe ‘Dave’ Cameron now has support from the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) in his bid to return in the top post come March 7.

Cameron who was at a business meeting at the time when the results were announced in his favour wanted to thank the membership of the JCA for its decision. The support from Jamaica is in addition to the public support of the Leeward Islands, Windward Islands and Guyana.

According to Cameron, “the work has really just started and the March 7 regional election is the ultimate target, after which I hope to the President once again. I am honored for the kind consideration of the JCA and I look forward to the support of the region in going forward.”

Previously, the JCA executive had a 10- 6 vote to support newly nominated Joel Garner who has since entered the race. Disgruntled members since then called an Annual General Meeting and the vote was overturned.

The March 7 election exercise is set for Kingston, Jamaica.
