Set and ready for Youngster Goldsmith Classics 2015

More than 2,000 athletes are expected for the 15th staging Youngster Goldsmith National Athletics Classics, set for February 07, 2015 at 8:00am inside the National Stadium.

The meet is hosted by Kingston College, one of the main powerhouses in Boys Track and field in Jamaica and top contenders at the annual Boys Championship which will take place next month.

This year’s staging should see top competitors from all cross Jamaican high schools, clubs and tertiary Institutions.

The traditional 70, 80, 100 and 110 metres hurdles, 400 hurdles, sprint hurdles as well as the 400 and 100 metres. This year’s format for selecting the winners will see timed finals for all event except the 100, 110, 70 and 80 meter hurdles events,

Other track event will include the 1500m, and 2000m Steeplechase. There will be a nice serving of field events including the Pole Vault, Javelin, Long Jump , High Jump Triple Jump , Discus , Shot Put being contested amongst high school athletes both gender vying for qualification for the annual Boys and Girls Championships, as well as senior male and female athletes.

The organizers have also stated that the Stadium East Track will be used in use for the following activities: Teams Holding Areas (Tents); Warm-up/Cool down;

Coaches and team Managers must pick up the competition packages for their team at the Grand Stand entrance (Registration) before the teams can enter the Stadium East.The Marshaling area will be at the usual place at the Stadium East, next to the 100m starting line.
