From the troupes of coach Michael Dyke came the talented and outstanding athlete Claudette “ jumper girl” Allen, known to many as the lady that cuts the sand with ease, but to others she is the definition of versatility in track and field amongst Jamaica’s junior athletes.

She has donned the famed sky blue of Edwin Allen High school, from Frankfield Clarendon, with great distinction and now she switches to the Blue and Gold of the Spartans of Trinity Western University (TWN) as she moves forward in her track and field and academic pursuits.
“With the help of my team and God I hope to embrace this opportunity to be a good leader as a member of the track and field team at Trinity Western University. I am coming to TWU to further my studies, explore a new culture and to meet new friends,” Allen was quoted as saying.

Allen, who has done well in several events such the 100m, 200m and 100m hurdles, along with the Long and Triple jump, was named the most outstanding female athlete at the 2014 CHAMPS, where she captained her teammates to their second school girl title.

She was third in the 100m hurdles Class One girls in a time of 14.23s, scoring victory in the long jump 6.45m, and was a part of the magnificent Class One sprint relay quartet for Edwin Allen High that won the event in a meet record 44.17, beating there nearest rival by a phenomenal two seconds.

At the 2014 CARIFTA Games, she earned herself double silver medal in both the U-20 long jump and triple jump competitions.

At the Annual Pens Relays, in the USA this year, Allen won the high school girls long jump with a leap of 6.21 meters and later teamed up with Christina Williams, Saqukine Cameron and Monique Spencer for victory in the 4×100 in a time of 44.70s. It was he fastest time by an Edwin Allen High quartet at the relays and also the fifth fastest ever at the Penns relay.

The 19 year old, also recently competed in long jump at the 2014 World Junior Championships where she jumped 5.97 and failed to progress from her qualifying pool.
