Red Steel to test Tallawahs mettle

Both the Red Steel and Jamaica Tallawahs have shown that they have “nerves of steel” by pulling out nail-biting wins in their last respective games in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

Today they face each other in what is expected to be another exciting game in this season’s CPL. Fans have already been treated to some spectacular cricket in the preliminary stage and the Steel will be anxious to end the unbeaten run of the defending champions.

Dwayne Bravo has led from the front as captain of the Red Steel with 67 and his brother,Daren smashed a six off the last ball against the Guyana Amazon Warriors to secure victory. The Bravo brothers put on a 131 match winning partnership which they will look to replicate against the champions.

In their last game which was also against the Warriors, the Tallawahs produced fine bowling at the end from spinners Nikita Miller and Daniel Vettori to restrict their opponents, while medium pacer Andre Russell coming up with the goods in the final over.

Both teams have won three games but the Steel have played one more game which they lost. The Steel will be hoping to win this game on home soil while the Tallawahs will be looking to close out the road tour with a win before heading back to Jamaica for three straight home games beginning next Thursday.
