ANTIGUA, July 11: West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) President, Dave Cameron is in Antigua for the quarterly Board of Directors Meeting. On Thursday he took time to do some community outreach which included visiting the Liberta Sports Club where former WI fast bowler, Kenny Benjamin, is the President.

Benjamin who is from that area of south-east Antigua is supervising the construction of a 6,400 square foot property where he hopes to be able to house camps, meetings not just for cricket, but for any relevant sporting group. A suitable space has been designated for net sessions. Also on that property which is home to the Liberta Primary School, where Benjamin attended.

Benjamin is optimistic that by year end the facility will be ready for full use. Benjamin, a Level III (Australian) coach frequents Australia and does a few stints around the region.

“I am pleased to be able to facilitate the further development of cricket in my country and I think once the facility is completed, we can continue to make a valuable contribution to the game and all round development of the players,” said Benjamin.

President Cameron along with newly appointed Sport and Culture Minister, Chet Greene were on hand to look at the facility. Both were pleased with the potential.
