Jamaica’s Tsetsi Davis will square off Guyana’s Howard Eastman in the first semi-finals of the 2014 Wray & Nephew Contender Boxing series. Both men are still in contention for the Jamaica Ultimate Welterweight title.

The venue has been shifted to the “Wray & Nephew Contender Coliseum” situated between Port Royal Street and Water Lane in downtown Kingston.

Davis lost out in the final last year and will looking to at least give himself another tilt at the title this year. To do that he will have to get beyond first time entrant Eastman who has a large Jamaican fan-base and very good ring skills. He likes to stalk his opponents and wear then down with body punches.

Davis is as tough as nails and tonight’s encounter may go all the way to the eighth round. This would be a real treat for the fans who have up until now, seen only six-rounders. The semi-finals are both scheduled for eight rounds.

Sakimo Mullings and Donovan ‘Police’ Campbell will fight in the other semi-final scheduled for next Wednesday  at the same venue.
