Queens-Grace Jackson Meet on tomorrow

Kingston, Jamaica: The Queen’s School celebrates 60 years of invaluable contribution to Jamaica’s education and nation building since its existence. The 13th staging of the annual The Queen’s/Grace Jackson Meet will form part of the year’s calendar of events.

Kingston, Jamaica: The Queen’s School celebrates 60 years of invaluable contribution to Jamaica’s education and nation building since its existence. The 13th staging of the annual The Queen’s/Grace Jackson Meet will form part of the year’s calendar of events.

 

A signature event the JAAA Track & Field calendar, it remains a qualifying meet for the Boy’s and Girls’ Championships, and has over the years served as a season opener for many elite athletes. This year will be no different. The order of events includes but is not limited to 200M, 400M, 4x400M, long jump and high jump. In honour of The Queen’s School 60th Anniversary a special invitational 60M has been included for male and female elite athletes. Track enthusiast and the general public are in for treat!

 

Slated to take place Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the National Stadium the meet will commence at 8:30am. Admission is JMD $400 for adults and JMD$200 for students with ID and children under 12 years old. Accommodation will be at the Grand Stand only. The Principal, Ms. Jennifer Williams stated that this year’s event promises to be a memorable one and advised that the proceeds will contribute to the School’s Development Fund.

 

Competitors of the Meet will comprise of track teams from varying secondary/high schools from urban and rural Jamaica.  Additionally, competitors form the major athletics clubs to include MVP/UTECH, Racers Track Club (UWI), GC Foster among others are also expected to compete. Registration will only be online via the event’s website www.queensgracejacksonmeet.com.jm. Results of the Meet will also be accessed online, at said address.
