Brave JamRockerZ ousted from FIBA Tournament after loss to Mexico

Jamaica’s 11 points loss to Mexico last night was enough to eliminate them from the FIBA Americas Championship with one, second round game still left to play.

Playing on a high after beating Brazil and Argentina the Jamaicans came out confident and led their opponents by one point after the first quarter, 20-19 and by two points 46-44 at half time.

But the Mexico team rallied in the third quarter behind their excellent long range game as they were well served from behind the line hitting 4 straight three-pointers  to take over the lead in the game.

Despite their brilliance from ‘downtown’, Mexico led by only a single point at the end of the third quarter as the scoreboard read 69-68 with the JamRockerZ clinging on to their coattails for dear life.

The fourth quarter proved to be too much for the banged up Jamaica team and the Mexicans were able to pull clear to come away 100-89 winners.

Jamaica will play their final game of the tournament tonight at 7’oclock local time against hosts Venezuela and will be looking to give a good account of themselves as they have done all tournament.
