Barbican will clash with rivals Harbour View for the third time this season, but on this occasion the stakes could not be higher. The two teams go head to head in search of the Sherwin Williams Colour Scape trophy.

Barbican are the defending champions and are keen on retaining the title against a team they have seen off twice already in the Sherwin Williams Women’s Premier League. They met on game day one in a close and tense affair. Barbican showed true grit to squeeze out a 1-0 win at home before hammering them 5-0 in the return fixture at the Harbour View Mini Stadium.

Now both teams will face off at the Waterhouse Mini Stadium at 5pm in what is expected to be a close and interesting encounter. Since that 5-0 loss to Barbican, Harbour View have not lost and have been on a good run of form, scoring goals at will. They easily saw off the challenge of Waterhouse 7-0 in the semifinals and will be bubbling with confidence going into today’s final.

Harbour View for all their good form must take into consideration that Barbican have not conceded a goal all season. In fact the only time they have not left the field with a win since the back end of 2011 was the draw against UWI a few weeks ago.

The Charles Edwards conditioned Barbican team, knows how to win and they will be coming hard to do just that again today, as they try to keep alive the objective of another clean sweep of all the silverware on offer.

Today’s final should be an intriguing encounter and may come down to will power. Is the Barbican team motivated enough to claim another title? Is the Harbour View team mentally strong enough to wrestle the title away from the champions? These and other questions will be answered come the final whistle.

Don’t forget, it could come down to penalty kicks.
