The ISSA/LIME Manning and DaCosta Cup competitions will begin today with a triple header at the Montego Bay Sports Complex in Catherine Hall St. James today.

The curtain raiser at 3pm will see the defending Manning Cup Champions St. Georges College, begin the defense of their crown against many times champions Camperdown High. The ‘Light Blues’ will be confident after having a very good preseason which included winning their own preseason competition called the St. Georges Cup.

It was the first time they were winning the four team competition and this will no doubt lift the spirits of a team that has lost eight senior players including top player from last season, Kendon Anderson.

The DaCosta Cup defending champions Glenmuir will face Denbeigh High in the second game of the day without their proven coach Jackie Walters who has moved on to take up a different challenge. They will however be confident of getting a good start as they seek to prove that they have the quality within their ranks to repeat.

The third game of this football feast will feature perennial favourites Cornwall College going up against Maldon High. Cornwall will certainly start favourites but need to be weary of a team looking to start their season well. This game is scheduled to begin at 7pm.
